Saturday, May 15th Killamazoo suffered it's worst loss ever.
FeBox (Bethany Heckman) passed away from a vehicle accident while on vacation in Texas.
FeBox had been with Killamazoo since before Sept. '08 starting out with an interest in helping with stats, but soon after went from the inside of the track to being on the track.
That October she started Fresh Meat training and after months of hard work earned her place on the roster. Two subsequent injuries to her ankle didn't stop her from coming back. Most people would have called it quits.
Recently she had added the responsibility of taking over merchandise ordering and sales for the league.
Killamazoo has lost a friend, sister and skater. Our hearts go out to FeBox's husband Casey, all of her family, co-workers and friends. We love her and will miss her forever.

Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Others stay a while, leave footprints on our hearts and we are never the same. RIP Bethany aka Fe Box- I did not know you long but knew you long enough to know you're a beautiful person with a wonderful spirit. You will be greatly missed but never forgotten.

Dear Bethany,
You were always kind hearted and I know that you are watching over us probably up there surrounded by dogs. When my mom told me that you were playing roller derby I was a bit taken back and I remember thinking quiet little Bethany? And then I saw you sitting there at Money's with your earned black eye and I was proud of you for coming out of that little shell. As I look back at the years I can say that I was lucky to know you and lucky to call you family. We love and miss you.

I was so sorry to hear about the loss of your team mate. I learned about your team and came for a practice do to a suggestion from her husband Casey. I worked at Palisades with him great guy so I'm sure his wife would of been just as great. My condolences to all of you and to her family.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm sorry I didn't see this earlier, was just on your website getting info for our game in 2 weeks.
You guys are a great team and great people. When we had you in Akron for our home opener, I was very impressed at how you represented your city and team. Losing a team member is like losing a family member and I can't imagine the feeling of loss you've had this year. My heart and prayers go out to your team and your families.
