KDD Visits Tendercare of Westwood for National Nursing Home Week

May 9th-15th was National Nursing Home Week. To celebrate, Tendercare of Westwood Nursing Home invited the Killamazoo Derby Darlins out on Friday, May 14th for Sports Day.

Kiki, Glenda, Twink, and Jacinda went to show the residents of Tendercare some derby love. Kiki talked to the residents and staff about the rules and penalties of the game. The residents enjoyed watching Kiki as she demonstrated legal and illegal hits using Glenda as her dummy. The derby girls rolled around showing off their skates and enjoying root beer floats with the residents.

The gymnastics team of Western Michigan also sported some of their skills for the Tendercare residents doing handstands and flips. Tendercare staff thanked the derby girls asking them to come back as soon as possible.
