Why roller derby? There was no speed skating in Kalamazoo, so I stumbled upon roller derby. I get to knock girls down while on skates, what more could I ask for in a sport?!

What's the origin of your derby name? Edward D. Wood Jr's movie “Glen or Glenda”.

What motivates you? I tend to be my main motivation. I only get one life, I want to make it count for something.

Injuries? No major roller derby injuries yet! Just old speed skating injuries and minor bumps and bruises from practices.

What wheels do you use? Retro wheels from when I was in speed skating about thirteen years ago. I cannot see the brand they are so old.

Do you serve on any KDD committees? Not yet but I volunteer a lot, any where I can.

What's your non-derby life like? I went back to school ten years after graduating and am majoring in Journalism, with a possible minor in Art and New Media. I love to try new things, especially new food and new art!

Advice for someone interested in derby? Buy good Knee pads. Don't waste your money on cheap ones.
