GAME RESULTS: FEBRUARY 16, 2013

The February 16th bout at Wings Stadium brought out some fierce derby in both the Killamazoo Derby Darlins and Brewcity Bruisers, the visiting team from Milwaukee, WI. Killa Crew lost the lead early on in the first bout and couldn’t make up the solid point deficit the Brewcity Battlestars created. Plagued by ill-timed penalties and a full box in the first half, Killa Crew fought hard but ultimately came up short with a final score of 242-89 in favor of the Battlestars.

The Killamazoo Derby Darlins were able to learn from the Killa’s experience and took that knowledge into the second bout where KDD took on the Brewcity Allstars. It was evident from the first jam that KDD was going to put up a fight. With some solid jamming and frequent lead changes in the first half, the bout was anyone’s game by the beginning of the second half. With a final point burst late in the second half, KDD closed the point spread and came up just short of a win with a final score of 270-250, Brewcity.
